Title: Web site desingners
Post by: colin bird on February 12, 2018, 05:01:28 pm
I'm looking to get a new web site, ive been quoted between £5-6 hundred  is this the going rate ? Or has anyone found some one that can do it cheaper ?
The web site I have doesn't generate much work so I don't want to spend loads on a new one.
Any help appreciated

Hi Colin,  Nathanael Jones is the Man you should talk too, he has built loads of websites for members on here,
me included, all the members on here rate him very highly, I will be getting him to do me another website soon.
Here's a link to his website

Nat is excellent - he did ours but cost more than 500 notes - TBH you'll get what you pay for and you will get a basic site with maybe 4 or 5 pages

if your not prepared to promote the web site then stick with what you've got or have a single page one just so you have a presence then maybe budget from CEO with that

Our next one may cost up to 2k but will have some extra's in it that will make it ( so im told ) rank it higher

Hi Darren, the web site I have is on the first page of Google in my area, but I've been told by my hosting company that the way it runs is out of date and is liable to get bugs & hacked, that means nothing to me.
Do you find you get much work from your site ?

Hi Colin, i would say that is a good price, i don't know what the going rate is to be honest,
I would say 99% of my work comes from the website, the rest would be facebook & referrals.

I took one step further and learned how to do it all myself.

I built my own website and ranked it to the number 1 spot on Google for my search terms.

I would advise all business owners to learn - local SEO. I get all the business for my area as I'm number 1 spot and it costs me nothing  8)

Yes SEO isn't that hard to learn.

But it's much harder to learn the coding required to design a really nice site.

I've ranked a few sites at or near the top but they look like poo poo as I can't design for poo poo

How do you check your page rank again?

How do you check your page rank again?

Ahrefs or Moz will tell you what keywords you rank for and what position in Google you are.
