I would imagine that you will have to get a general labourers card. Probably simplifying the system by reducing the number of cards but more of a pain for shiners.

We do not require CSCS cards at all. I tried spplying for one a while back and was told the rules have changed. As we're simply cleaning, a CSCS card is not required. Speak to the site manager. If he is clueless, refer him to the CSCS helpline to get it from them.

What about pressure cleaning?
-
Some sites you can't get on unless you have a cscs. I've just a labourers one. Didn't know there was one for cleaners.
-
i'd say its a good thing if you cant get back on those building sites mate, hit some domestic and grab a mid week carvery ;D
-
Anything non construction related (which cleaning is) does not require a card, so i'd say for pressure washing there's no need either. Call the helpline and ask for advice
-
Until the insurance company is involved. If they want all on site to have one, then you have to have one. Client makes the rules on why they require, not us unfortunately!

saw this on fb re cscs cards https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154847566931610&set=gm.1990688364499894&type=3&ifg=1

If it's a live construction site then you have to have a card. Also you now have to go on a 1 day health and safety course costing £150 plus do the computer touch screen test, cost £20 then apply for a green labourers car, cost £30 so £200 altogether. I know because I have just had to do all this to get on site to do the final clean on a new build school. Trying to find high level window cleaners with Ipaf etc is like looking for gold.

Just done my cscs test today
Working on wainhomes site doing builders and sparkle cleans

The majority of contractors will require you to have a valid cscs card cleaning operatives usually have either skilled labourer of labourer ( green )
The only major exception is Taylor wimpey out of the major players not compulsory on their sites but recommended
So you will not be denied access to work due you not possessing one
Just have to sit thro their induction process

Anything that isn't attached to construction (like cleaning ) does not need a card, thus I'd say pressure washing is no different. Call the helpdesk to get guidance.

Digging out a 6 year old post to give false info ::)roll
Internal construction cleans, as mentioned in the OP, require CSCS cards.

Don’t think you have to have one ?? Depends who you are working for . (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1682455604_IMG_0141.jpeg)

According to this they are being done away with ? Doesn’t affect us as don't do site work but it appears they are no longer needed .(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1682456054_IMG_0142.jpeg)

Don’t do site work these days either but when I did, for the national house builders, you wouldn’t get on site for build cleans and sparkles without a valid CSCS card. So the guy digging this thread up is wrong.

We did do some site work around 15-20 years ago and we didn’t have any cards but gave it up as it was very poorly paid . When this thread was started it might have been needed but now it doesn’t appear it is ?… not to sure to be honest .

its never been an issue for us.
don't think ive had a customer in the last 5 years even ask...
Had a customer once try to stick us on that wage system they use for self employed contractors - that didn't fly
