What a brush!!
Been using it last few days and have to say this is the best brush I have used in over a decade! Super-Lite cleaning with near-Xtreme weight. It looks right, it feels right and it works right- makes the Xline feel like a brick. Well done gardiners, looking forward to other versions which are to follow apparently. :) :) :)
The brush I think most people have been waiting for.
-
Wait till you get the others.
-
Fantastic brushes tbh.
Literally perfect.
Did a minging first clean today with one and it was like using a dual trim super lite.
I like my sill brush for sash windows and 3/4 new build work but the bristle quantity is not needed. If alex and release a 190g sill brush (max weight) then hes laughing. As the normal sill aint that heavy at 225g i believe....
-
Pleasing if it has good
Scrubbing power
Longevity
Dense bristles
Good splay

-
I will be looking forward to the medium mixed to try when it's released :)
-
It almost feels like its not touching the glass. Sometimes I don't like that.
No bad reports yet :)
Must be the vision lmao
-
You don't listen to me do you what did I tell you about these brushes, like I say wait till you try the flocked and the different mono to the one on sale, perfection.
-
Anyone know if the flocked version is any good?
-

The only one currently on sale is the medium/soft, which I should have tomorrow and expect to destroy in a few weeks. Are you saying the medium is much better?
Hopefully the medium/soft will last me until the medium is released if that is the case.
-
I use black soft and medium one , old style .
Be interested to know what these new type be like .
-
There will be a black single trim flocked it is superb not only on leads I have been using it on everything and I never normally use a flocked I haven't in recent years literally a couple of scrubs and your done, also another dual trim which IMO is better than the current dual on sale although the one on sale is still a very good starter.

I don't know if it's going to be for sale but a white full trim.
Can't wait to use these brushes tomorrow on my commercial. Hate using other brushes at 50/60ft so should be a good test.
-
Bodes well
-
Is he? Good news.
-
Did some of my commercials today.
Results were just the same as using dual trim heavy brush.
When I did insides I checked them all.
So happy chappy.

I think you'll be surprised, I think these brushes have different bristles in them. I've done Two jobs this week that have never failed to pull bristles out of my brush- ever. Not one bristle has come out of this Ultimate brush on either job- even when forcing the issue so there is a considerable improvement there.
-
Is there a release date for the flocked?
-
Not wishing to upset Nutty Nigel, but I've been using the for a few weeks too. They're excellent. I haven't used an Extreme lately. I must admit I've continued to use a sill brush on grubby first cleans, but I will try a stiff Ultimate. oo er. ;D
-
Bodes well
Is he? Good news.
;D ;D ;D
-
Not to sure on the ultimate to be honest. Arrived today so cleaned my own windows. Just feels so flimsy, alot like using an extreme.
I'm not a fan of soft bristles, I like to feel the brush scrubbing but it felt like I was mopping the windows.
It splayed weirdly, half the bristles went left half went right, leaving a gap in the middle of the brush.
The xline bristles splay forward, with the inner bristles filling in the gaps on the outer rows, I like that.
It also has far less bristles then xline, which I accept is the only to get the weight down, but I like a bit of bush ;)
Obviously the weight is good on the ultimate but iv never had an issue with the weight of an xline.
I have an issue where the lighter the brush I use, the harder and more aggressive I seem to clean with them, quickly destroying them in the process.
Think il stick with xline, it cleans great, it splays beautifully, it can take a beating and the weight is fine.
Anyone near me want a brand new ultimate, £20 collection only (Gu11 postcode).
-
Anyone tried them on Snail trails yet? I haven't found anything that beats the Xline yet. There are nicer brushes than the Xline but not better. ...................yet.
-
I think someone has been asked to plug the Xline over the Ultimate, the new ultimate is a better brush but as I said it's the first one to be released the other ones to follow are fantastic brushes, this first one is a very good brush for those who liked the extreme medium mixed and the standard super lite brush. The flocked and the other mono brushes to follow are superior to any other brush that's been produced for cleaning power weight and quality, the Xline although a good brush is a heavy brush the ultimates don't feel anywhere near as heavy.

I could say the same about you :)
Not long ago you were singing the praises of the xline, now the ultimate is king.
Maybe you've been won over with a few free brushes?
Still waiting on my freebies from xline :D
Apart from the slight weight difference, the xline is easily the better brush IMO.
With that said, I'm only basing my opinion on the medium/soft ultimate, the medium or flocked may be another animal entirely so I will reserve my full judgement until iv tried those 2 brushes.
I do like alot of Gardiner's brushes with the medium or hybrid bristles, they just were not hard wearing enough for me.
-
I have absolutely nothing to gain from plugging Xline whatsoever. They don't offer me any favours. I have been using a different Gardiners brush all week (which I quite like) However, it wouldn't touch some snail/slug trails today so the Xline went back on which is why I wondered how you lot were getting on. Come the spring when the snails really get moving I'll be interested to see how they perform and which Ultimate is the best. Of course the Xline really should be up against a Superlight I think.
-
Alex, if you're reading can you let me know when you expect the medium in stock? Cheers

I'm surprised to say the least about that Chris.
Mine isn't at all flimsy, it splays lovely, is "considerably" lighter than the Xline- in fact the Xline is positively brick-like in comparison!! I think you may be applying too much pressure now you are used to the Xline, ease off a little and I think you will find it much better. For me the outer bristles of the Xline are pretty useless, the inner scrubs well but the orange outer bristles are not very effective- it's an ok brush especially for an "off the shelf" (WCW is the same brush) but the Ultimate is streets ahead IMO. I only use Xtremes these days for very high work as I find they struggle a bit with everyday work (spiders nest etc) but this Ultimate will do it all for me. The Ultimate is nothing like an xtreme, it is based on the SL stock and has far more bristles.
-
The xline is a good brush , good longevity .
I also use the black soft gardiners black brush and the medium trim brush .
I'm due a new brush in a months time .
Always good to have choice .
I've heard a few persons say the Ultimate is good

No it doesn't matter. You just waste time.
Would you use a sill brush on windows without any sills on a 50ft commercial job.....?
-
I clean.clean windows day in day out.does it matter what brush?
Agreed. For maintenance cleaning any brush will do, so it might as well be a light one.

I disagree, if any brush would do then this thread along with a good percentage of this forum section wouldn't exist.
-

A "good/poor brush" can add or subtract £25 to a day's work.
-
Personally I think Gardiners new compact brush looks more interesting as the bristles are designed to hold their shape better so it should scrub better. The weight will be only a little less than the superlight brush so I assume it will have more bristles than the ultimate.
This brush has not been released nor unfortunately have I got one to trial.
Looking at the picture of the ultimate it has far fewer bristles than the xline so for the time being I will stick with xline because I know it scrubs well.
-
It's only the first one wait until the others are out you will be able to make your mind up quicker and easier.

It's just cleaning windows. For minging first cleans a heavy, stiff brush is quicker, for normal cleaning I can't see why anyone would want a heavy brush.
-
To me personally the brush is very important the weight the way it is on the glass and in general how easy it is to use,I think the main reason for this is because there a so few good brushes out there for sale at the moment. I have amassed a huge amount of them over the years I tried almost every one and I must admit the 4-5 ultimate brushes that will be available soon are the best I've used for weight-results-time needed on the window to do a very good job, there will be a flocked and 2 other mono brushes coming at some point and if someone said to me you will only be able to use these brushes for of the remainder of the time you clean windows I would be more than happy with that. The one on sale at the moment I found to be very good on Georgion Windows and general PVC smooth glass, the flocked brush to be released could literally be used to clean everything if you wanted it's superb on leads ie no jumping first cleans Georgians and normal PVC Windows it's a one brush does all, myself I prefer most of the time to rinse on so tend to change from job to job but if someone wanted 1 brush to clean all there work and they had a mixture of lead Georgians etc the single flocked would be my recommendation.

Well said 8 Weekly, I have been trying the Gardiner supreme over this last few weeks and I would be lying if I didn't say
it does have more grip on the glass so I would then associate that with more scrubbing power, is it really needed for the
job at hand ? well for me the answer would be no as I get just as good a clean and I'm every bit as quick using an Xtreme brush.
I honestly think some people actually go out of their way to make this job a lot harder than it needs to be but then its all
extra cash in the pockets of equipment sellers.
Dave Willis when scrubbing snail trails do it in a circular motion and they will come off very quickly and easily with any brush.
-
Hot water is the answer on snail trails yeah it may come off slightly quicker cleaning it a different way but the answer with all stubborn stuff on glass like the above birds mess bee spots is hot water and a medium bristle brush, anyone complaining of not being able to shift that must be a cold user.

I don't know NWH, the guys who complain about not being able to clean with cold still complain when using hot
they still complain when using hot and additives and after trying every brush on the market they still complain that they
aren't getting perfect results. ;D
-
No such thing as perfect results with WFP.
-
Just a thought ....
Has anyone sensible tested the whole range yet or just NWH?

I've tested three of them, but I don't know what they are. One (orange) is quite soft and ok for regular jobs, but not up to dirty first cleans. The other two do everything. I tend to use a stiffer of the 4 brushes that has black inner bristles, but all are very light and usable in place of an Xtreme.

Are these new brushes or just a renaming of the old Gardeners brush. If its new what makes it new. A name. Or the Kings new clothes.
-

They compete with the Xtreme for weight, yet scrub like a superlite.
-
What are they like compared to supreme's guys, I'm using the supreme's soft flocked as my regular brush so waiting to order one of those when they come out, I believe the ultimate is 20grams lighter but it's the scrubbing power I'm interested in!
-
The supremes don't compare totally different brush they don't come close IMO,if you've used an oval Vikan you've used a supreme. Much better bristles on these new brushes very grippy similar feel to the standard ionic brush on the monos making them clean better. If you use a flocked supreme you will like the single trim flocked in this new brush just my opinion.
-
NWH - I use the super lite medium mixed brush , should I go for the ultimate medium bristles or the medium soft?
-
The brush for sale at the moment is a good choice if that's what your looking for its its lighter though, the brushes to follow ie single trim flocked and different versions of the mono are outstanding IMO. None of the new brushes fold flat they flex if you need them to flex with a slight push with your leading hand,I'm testing around 6 brushes.
-
Awesome, also idea when the other versions are available?
Cheers 👍
-
I have no idea when they will be bringing them out and in what setup I think the flocked will come with no alterations because I've tested it and I found it to be perfect that particular brush dosent jump about like so many others, the main thing for me is bumping on old leads and this brush comes very close to no jumping. On modern leads it floats over them like there's no lead in the glass at all and most windys clean these type of lead light Windows so it will be ideal for them, the other mono brushes no out yet I found to be fantastic on Georgian Windows as well as general PVC they glide over the window bars like there not there I was really surprised with it.
-
The single flocked brush like I said earlier will allow you to clean all Windows without the need to change brush for thick leads,I used it the other day for every job that I normally use a mono for rinsing on,I was a running and tilting on the way down to rinse and it was just as quick with a flow of water, around 70 on the controller which is what I have it on daily I have no need to lift he brush if there very dirty I just tilt on the way down. Very little effort in scrubbing needed with this brush on the glass, ideal also for Conny roofs as well especially when they are free for the customer lol they love me 😂😂
-
The one I have is at least as stiff as the Xline, it doesn't flop at all. It cleans every bit as good as my Xline but is considerably lighter and less bulky. It's nothing like an xtreme- much more substantial, more like a Super-Lite but without the weight. I've used many brushes over the years and IMO this is the best pound for pound brush of them all. Looking forward to other versions.
-
They are the best so far only my opinion pound for pound cleaning ability longevity and weight,if you purchased 3 of these different versions you would have all you need to clean Windows.
-

-
£180 I don't know how long that takes you to earn that but to it shouldn't take to long really should it,so £180 odd quid if I had to spend it would be money well spent as little as it is 🚽🚽🚽
-
Hope they are better than the supreme s bought three last summer and all three lasted 3months wasn't impressed at all

Pot calling the kettle black but have to agree suppliers giving out freebies does cause more harm than good, it gets to the stage
where no review or feedback is worth anything.
-
I am so tired of asking a question and getting a lot of marketing B/S. It fits in here, its a MODDED brush.
-
You won't be buying any then.

We're in agreement for once 8)
Free stuff always seems great. I remember I once tested a Gardiner's brush, I thought it was the bees knees, until it was completely deformed after 8 weeks continuous use.
Even then I didn't want to say a bad word about it.
I think Alex was very clever in who he chose to market, I mean test, these brushes. ;)
If I wanted free advertising then nwh would certainly be a good choice for some free testers..

Why? I'd choose people who's opinions are more "mainstream" shall we say. NWH is on the lunatic fringe. ;D

IMO as a paying customer, I just don't think these brushes are as good as the hype.
Had another play today and compared to my xline it just doesn't feel as tough or have the same cleaning power.
On upstairs sills the ultimate is definitely not an effective cleaning tool.

Indeed, but he doesn't shut up.
Give him 6 free brushes and watch him endlessly praise these brushes to high heaven.
Certainly more affective advertising then giving free brushes to someone who posts once a month!

Yeah I'm easily bribed me it dosent take much 200 notes worth of brushes and I'm anyone's. If Facelift are reading this please don't send me another NEON brush lol

I've tried just about every gardiner brush going and the supreme brush was the very worst I've ever used. I use to like them for lightness and because they splayed and were okay for price. For scrubbing power and longevity they weren't that impressive. The only brush of gardiners that I still feel confident to use knowing that it will clean thoroughly to give me confidence the windows have been left cleaned to a high standard without excessive scrubbing is the sill brushes.
I like to use four jets on a brush as using two jets means turning the water flow down otherwise splashing up above the brush head occurs. I like to use a high flow to save time and effort on the glass. With gardiners brushes they fit two jets and have two additional optional holes for two extra jets....they're too close together with a great big gap where bristles should be so there is a lot of scrubbing potential wasted in the design of the brush. The bristles are too few and too loosely bunched together, they need to be more compact like tucker brushes, ionic brushes, xline brushes. It's all very well have lightweight brushes but the brushes need to be more compact with bristles. It's the stock head that can be as light as a feather whilst keeping it's shape. I've lost confidence in trying new brush ranges from gardiners and will continue to replace my old brushes for similar as not willing to try any new ones for the time being, sorry!

One option would be to get gardiners to fit 3mm pencil jets instead of the standard 2mm ones. I have the 3mm on some brushes and it causes far less splash back, enabling you to use a much higher flow rate if you wish.
-
You used to be able to get different sized jets from Gardiners - don't know if you still can, I haven't looked for a while.

Yes. They still sell 3mm jets.

Bought some while ago, I like them. Definitely less splash back. Use a tad more water though.
