Title: Federation of Window Cleaners
Post by: AuRavelling79 on February 16, 2016, 11:15:28 pm
Just looked at the forum generated email about the Manchester Cleaning Show and noticed the FWC as being listed as a contributor to the proceedings.

When I joined this forum there would be heated debates about their relevance and other things and I wondered if anyone here is a member and if so why?

Genuine question.

Not anymore, I can't recall one benefit from being a member, quarterly magazine 20% discount on over priced equipment.

I am.

Years ago it was good to show you were part of a trade association .

But in all the years I have been a member I have never needed them or been asked about them by a client.
I use the logo on my van and stationary and to be honest that's what your paying for.

They offer slight discounts on tools and insurance but I've never used them.

I am half thinkin about cancelling.

Yes been a member for many years

The FWC represents the window cleaning industry in a lot of different ways

At present working with Manchester show
Looking at new training for supervisors two day course
Working with HSE guidance sheets ladders

The FWC  has helped me in my marketing belonging to a professional organization
You only have to look at what they have achieved over the last 20 years to see that the management committee and staff  are dedicated to improve the window cleaning industry

WAHR
HSE
TRADE SHOWS
DROUGHT
TRAINING IOSH ACCREDITED
REPRESENT INDUSTRY
FORUMS
I do understand it may not be for every body but the above has effected our industry

You do not want to pay membership fee
It has done nothing for me
No value

I am a big believer in window cleaning training
I am mostly commercial and had to prove to my clients that I am qualified to do my job

Has you see I am passionate to the FWC

Bryan

Price starts from around £95 a year depending on how many employees you have.

The window cleaners Guild may be better suited to sitting in a field Mark ?  Maybe the owner of it might offer himself up to be put in stocks in a muddy field and charge to pelt fruit at him ? I realise the word "Guild" might suggest its a collective, but no really it has an "owner", you could do no worse than ask ?  ;D

The problem with that is there would be such a massive amount of people who would like to join in  I would have to extend the show a week  ;D

You don't do "subtle" do you Bryan?  ;D

It's Alexander Swan - not Alexandra Swan.

Not She, she, she.   But He.  He.  He.

See, you're laughing already.

As Bryan Dolby has turned up and mentioned the FWC, I thought I would resurrect this thread.

Anyone a member?

Any benefits from so being?

Only on Newsnight.  They said it wouldn't remove 'impacted bird soilage' or something (poo).

Caused a bit of a stink at the time, that did.

Lots of window cleaners changing from ladders to WFP, trying to convince their customers it'll be okay, and the FWC go on prime time TV and tell everyone it doesn't work.
