can you charge your numax leisure battery while lefi in van, via the 2 small pins next to the main terminals, already connected up as normal use.
save bringing the battery out and disconnecting the terminals. i hope you know what i mean.

Yep that's how I do it, leave it in the van and just wack the crocodile clups on to charge. I use an extension lead from house to the van, and leave the charger in the van!

I have a leisure battery charger installed in van properly connected to battery all I have to do is plug it in with extension cable lovely.
-
do you have to charge off main terminals , or can you connect to the mini ones next to them to charge, instead of disconecting clamps from the main terminals. just saves disconecting battery from controller.

Yes you can, that's how I used to charge mine

this would save me having to remove from van to charge up at night. Advanced, how have you gone about securing the charger to your battery, while driving about working
this is more like having a split relay but only charging when you need to,

I have an intelligent type charger permanently in my van, connected to the battery and give it a charge about once a week..
I also have a split charge relay to keep me ticking over.

this may be a way for me, i have a numax inteligent charger, hoping to set up this weekend, rain forecast. :'( :'(

Johnny,
Youre in Middlesbrough area aren't you.
If you would like a trip through to Saltburn I will 'walk' you through your setup.

Cut the crocodile clips off the charger, get some cheapo lighting cable from Wilkos, re-attach the clips, leave the charger in the garage and just run the extended charger cable to the van. Simpler and preferable to leaving 240 volt cable out in the rain.
But don't forget to disconnect before driving off like I did last week and dragged the charger half way up the drive before the cable snapped!!! ;D ;D

Positivity that sounds better, normal extension cable is a lot thicker to close door on, electric cable should not be prohibiting if leaving in van overnight, door should close no prob.
Spruce if you dont mind id take you up on your offer, how long have you had van set-up.
charging battery up now, showing charging mode, advised it should next go to Float charge.
i shouldnt need to remove from van if i secure the forget me clips onto pins with nuts provided/
relaxing a bit now.
just need to get set-up now.

i think the hosereel will be a test, especially with van doors open, ill look into this after ive set-up and relaxed :D

once it is fully charged it will go onto float charge. you can leave it on float charge all night if you want to. It slowly trickles in a third of an amp or so.
I leave charger in van all night. 10 amp extension cable is thin enough to allow rear doors to close. The side sliding door has a gap at the bottom when closed. A cable will also go through that without issue.
Had the van mount about 7 years. Trailer setup before that.

im charging up since 3 o,clock, put crocodile clips on the smaller pins it comes on charging with fan running, flashing saying charging.
if i took it off them and clamped the main terminals it changes to a float charge,
i placed crocodile clips back onto smaller pins.
not much of a help sheet with charger.
i know it could take a long time to fully charge up fully.
im waiting for the lights to flash, fan stop and go into float chatge
