Title: Twin d.i setup worth it? cost

Hi, fairly new to wc using 1 d.i unfortunately cannot have a RO system due to where i live

how much better off will i be with two d.i vessels rather than one?  my tds is 160ppm ( i know)

At 160 ppm its still going to be fairly costly to produce pure water but as you say needs must.
It works like this, if you only use one DI bottle then you will more than likely change the resin when it hits
about 10ppm some will let go higher than this but lets use 10ppm as an example.
So you will be throwing away resin that is still filtering the water from 160ppm down to 10ppm.
If you add another bottle then you don't need to throw this resin away until its well spent, even if its taking the water
down to 80ppm then that's still half before it goes through the second bottle. (hope this makes sense)
It means you get more use from your resin so a double DI more than covers its cost.

SeanK is correct. A second DI vessel for you with a 160ppm input is a MUST! It will drastically cut your resin use from using just one vessel. ;)

I'm doubling up at 34ppm from tap. Why not look at buying 2 reconditioned DI vessels there about £30 from eBay.

Same ere, there's a guy who just seems to sell tons of them on there, I've had two 11 ltr with no issues

These are what I got. These are full units although the pics only show the head & riser assembly (which are brand new). The vessel bodies are used but mine were literally like brand new. I paid £33 each so "make an offer" around that figure.

love to know where he gets them from never seen anyone else selling that many
