exactly how I have my pole set up ... saves some water ... no weight and lasts for ever :)

Has anyone ever measured how much water is actually saved using these gadgets?
I bet you only save about 5 litres a day, couldn't be bothered with the messing and money wasted when I can just disconnect the hose or kink it.
-
I know what u mean me and my dad and brother have been through about four aquadaters that have simply snapped in half.
Most have been replaced free of charge love the product but hate it when they break.
They now say no goosenecks and dont shake the brush too hard as it can damage it.
I think the product is too long and needs shortening.

??????? how do you turn off the water when the poles 20ft in the air.
no point putting a tap at the brush end when you cant turn it off between windows.
unless you have very long arms. :D

its great for ground floor windows mate and i turn the tap on and kink the hose when extending! ;) ;D
ive tried a pole hose tap on the other end of the pole hose and they just keep breaking with getting dragged across the ground!! ;D

Just what I thought. It needs to be at the bottom.
I was going to buy a AD, as they are a great idea, but after this post :( Think ill have a tap strapped to bottom of pole

or maybe not lol

Nope I love my aqua -daptors
-
the loop is the only bad thing about a tap on the bottom of pole.
got an a/d but still prefer tap on the pole for on /off.
-
I fitted a tap at the brush end 4 years ago, love it.
-
I have two (one as a spare) and I have to refit the springs on both. >:(
-
daz try the aqua tap
I have had the Aqua adapter and prefer the Aqua tap by a long shot.
We use two on our poles not much goes wrong with them
-
the loop is the only bad thing about a tap on the bottom of pole.

What loop?
Once the pole is fully extended, how far from the base of the pole should the tap be along the pole hose? Mine always seems to be too far away from me to easily turn the flow off. It's normally easier and quicker to collapse the pole right down then either clean the ground floor windows or walk off to wherever the tap is hiding.
-
The exact same thing happened mine I bought one last month and was broke in first couple of hours. The spring broke so total wast of money won't be trying them again.
-
Dazmond ! Dont ever take that tap off!!
We have used ours exactly as you are using yours now for a number of years. I compared this way to using a AD in some week long tests (a week using a AD then a week using the tap), the AD saved between 20 to 25 litres a day compared to this method.
The advantage of just using the tap is very little weight gain AND more importantly SHORTER closed pole length.
We love them taps!
-
Granted i dont have a van mount, just a backpack, but I use a remote control for turning the water on and off, it's brilliant :)

tap taped to the pole.

no need to drag along the ground

I've had quite a few aquadapters, but I got fed up with the springs breaking. Fitted flow valves on all my poles now, took a bit of getting use to again but I much prefer it as the water flow is more controllable with sod all to break as it's simplicity... cant beat them. No way would I go back to aquadapters again. Nice idea but too much fluffing around with them and no control over how much water used. Flow valve...water flow higher than an aquadapter but turned down for scrubbing and turned up for rinsing....simple.

How does ironing your problems public sort this?
Just contact me to sort this out, ive had about twenty aqua-dapter break there, but not any more as i have strengthened there since, i am not an enemy, you work with me and i improve, but certainly talking on a forum does not sort it.
Send it back, get a replacement!

I've never had a problem with my Aquadapters.
One day I statistically will do I suppose.

Hi oliver,
Spoke to your dad other day, if your aware of that, and told him we altered there body design where it broke.
true i would not advise goosenecks usually as it does increase stress, but we have tried to address this area.
if you notice the new one i sent you (Black and grey) it has a different design Slot.
Please talk to me so i can address (alter design to improve), ironing problems publicly just undermines a product, not help it, when you work with suppliers like my self you will get a better product.
If a customer said to you, i dont want my windows cleaned, you would like to know why.
If they told you one window was spotting, you would address it yes?
What if they went to all there neighbours saying you was a rubbish window cleaner before telling you the problem first.
Do you understand my view point?
steve.

+1 maybe more than 5 litres a day, but i understand if you are on a water meter you want to save water as much as possible

Hi Steven
You do make a good point about airing views on a public forum.
As I said I love the product and will continue to promote the product to the many other window cleaners that I know.
However you can't stop people from discussing products on this forum as far as I am concerned that's what makes ciu such a good forum.
Having used aqd since the mark 1 which was a bit like iron mans first suite of armour in the first iron man compared to your product now.
And I don't doubt for a second that your product will carry on getting better.
All the best with aquadapter for the future

What i am saying is aqua dapter as a 12 month warranty and would replace with an update.
Please go down that route.

Steven,
i am sure you do your best but don't feel offended when someone are not happy about your product! you know your aqua dapter is fragile so don't need to get upset ;)
-

you mean like Daz?
Yep was one of the first things I did.
-
Lol! :)
Not upset, but keep working at improving them, If you get a problem, either a repair or new one.
They no longer brake at the top like dazmonds, thats whats frustrating, but customers have the idea that there all weak in that area when they are sorted now.

Hi Steven, I emailed you through your website a few weeks back, I had exactly the same problem (for the second time) as the OP photo shows and I got no response whatsoever >:(, this despite spending, I would guess not far off £1000 on your products in the past. In a previous correspondence with you I actually stated I believed there was a design flaw at the threaded end, and that the old design of having the plastic cap on the end of the screw thread was better. Would you be happy to replace my broken unit with the new strenghened one? Kevin Smart
-
With pleasure Kevin.
it irritates me when you guys get problems with them as I designed it.
just want to give you a good product.

Thanks Steven, how do I go about returning it? When I go on your web site and sign in most of my past purchases are no longer showing. If you prefer I will email you over the weekend?

Hey Steven,
To be honest with you and to further help you improve your business, you might need to look at the way you handle your replies in public. An abrupt and rude reply some where like this forum can and will only harm your business.
Whilst Dazmond could have contacted you in private, he chose to "vent" on a public forum, which is his choice.
Maybe your reply could have started with an apology eg.
"I am sorry to hear that you have had so many problems with our product and appreciate you have invested time and money purchasing and using Aquadaptors. The problem part you have highlighted has now been improved and if you would like to contact me I will get this matter sorted out for you as soon as possible. Hopefully the revised product will restore your faith in us and you will consider using our products again in the future"
No offense meant but in business customers are everything.

Ok let me tell you how ive been getting on with my new slightly altered Aqua Dapter.
The main problems that myself & no doubt some others were finding with the Aqua Dapter MK3 XL was the fact it just didn't seem robust enough, particularly when being used with a gooseneck! The casing on two of my devices snapped in half within weeks and the internal springs had a habit of also snapping! Never the less i had no hesitation in continuing to use the Aqua Dapter as the customer service & aftersales i receive is quite simply superb & i had no doubt the correct improvements would be made for what is the best water saving device on the market for todays window cleaner .
So with over six months of daily usage, while attached to a 10 inch Gardiners gooseneck, these were my findings.....
1} No sign of any hairline cracks or evidence of splitting anywhere on the casing.
2} The internal spring mechanism has held firm & no replacement has been necessary
3} The Aqua Dapter wheel has stayed in place {This would occasionally fly off mid-flow}
4} Absolutely no stiffness or deterioration in the mechanism whatsoever
5} No leaks at all & the mechanism again works flawlessly at height.
Conclusion: The slightly altered Aqua Dapter MK3 XL is 100% improved, totally fit for purpose & after six months of regular use it still looks and feels like its just out of the box.
To the folks at Aqua Dapter - I Thank You.........

aquadaptors are a great idea ,they just do not seem to last too long.
got one aquadaptor left on one pole and when that goes ,it will get the mini tap on same as the rest.

The new one is loads better....I have spoken to steven on several occasions and he's a very helpful guy and I've always recieved good customer service :)

Ditto SB. The product is brilliant but the service that goes along with it is just as important. The Guys at Aqua Dapter know how important after sales & information is to a customer.

I had mine break in exactly the same way as Dazmonds did when mine was only a few months old but it got repaired and returned under warranty really quickly.
I was assured that the threaded top cap had been tweaked to strengthen it and prevent it happening again... and so far it hasn't...
I was also told that the spring specifications had been slightly altered, I think they are now slightly longer than was originally fitted which allows them to operate in the same way but increases their lifespan... although mine did break last week after a good 6 months plus of use!
I'd just put that down to wear & tear on a cheap and easy to replace part. Inconvenient when it happens but not the end of the world... as long as you have a spare spring. ;D
