stuart, your domain name may still be available and it's possible (maybe) to find the old content as well.

Google

If people are signed in to google plus your posts will come up high in the results, as its free

I know a tech writer that only blogs from G+

"After 10 years of blogging with conventional blogging sites and services, I abandoned that approach a year ago and started blogging on Google+. Why? Because Google+ is by far the best blogging platform. As Tim O'Reily said, it's like Tumblr 2.0, but more social.

I also cancelled my account with a leading photo-sharing and management site, and now use Google+ for that exclusively.

I've replaced more than half my email communication with Google+ communication. If you don't know me, the only way to reach me is via Google+.

I use Google+ to automatically publish my email newsletter!

I use Google+ instead of Skype to communicate with my family while I'm living abroad.

I use Google+ to write first drafts of my stories, to crowdsource, to take polls, to get feedback and to drive traffic to the articles I write. It has dramatically improved my work as a writer. "

The point is you dont have to be a user of G+ to see G+ results in your searches just signed into your google account, thats the point. this is virgin stuff that no carpet cleaner at the moment is exploiting, you can get a head start. just do some testing and see the results. whats that old saying about speak to the organ grinder not the monkey?

G+ is advanced in other ways as well linking friends and searches. remember google is all about signals now. its this that helps business link. lets face it who wants to link to carpet cleaning articles? so how can google tell Page rank? social signals, but unlike facebook and the other social platforms google is king of search so they can link both. And they want to as all paths lead to adwords.

Local search is heading for a hit soon as so many are fake, so whats going to replace local? what better that real local people talking and searching for local business, thats real signals not some fake address.

Respects
