Title: Gardiners new clamps
Post by: steven ainger on January 18, 2014, 07:36:57 am
My 18ft slx is getting a bit tired now , being 2 1/2 years old, and the clamps are starting to spin on the top 2 sections.
If i fitted the new self adjusting clamps, would this solve the problem.
Also, how are you all getting on with the clamps, as when they were first released, people werent too positive about them.
Look forward to hearing your feedback.

Hi,
In your excellent video repairing a clx with resin was mentioned, if you have a video for this please send the link.

Many thanks

they're really good for repairing an old pole.

thime last year my SLX 35' (or something!?) was spinning at pretty much all top sections and was a nightmare to use.

as soon as the clamps became available i replaced all clamps and the SLX was given a new lease of life.

we don't have any spinning sections at all now, and this is a 3 year old pole which is well worn.

the new clamps are a great innovation.  :)

I can't recommend the smart clamps highly enough.  The grip tight on worn and unworn sections equally well.  I can see these clamps easily doubling the life of a pole.  If you follow the video changing the clamps is a relatively easy job, just make sure that the glue is well mixed.
