any reviews on these vans, seriously looking now for this year. time to go forward and build buisness up. cant really do without a van

Same as Traffic and Vivaro. You get more for your money with a nissan though if your buying new. Really good van to be honest, I know some don't like them but I've had mine a year and it's sweet, mind you it has still only done 5000 miles.

They seem to be a ticking time bomb over 70k tho. Too many horror stories for my liking.

i know a guy thats got a vivaro and its 10 years old with 170,000 on the clock.he s had it from new.no gearbox or injector problems.maybe he s just lucky. ;D
ill be defo looking at a vivaro/trafic/primastar as my next van in a couple of months.07 onwards.
i like the look of em and the payload is good for a 500L tank and all my other gear.plenty of room for signwriting on the sides and back as well.
ill only be doing around 2500-3000 miles in it a year as ill just be using it for work. ;) :)

I got alloys, sat nav, bluetooth, colour coded bumpers, armrest etc etc didn't think I could get anymore options tbh & mines the Renault...

I have had two over eight years, never left me down very comfortable as i do huge milage, and have driven many different vans over many years and will not drive any other than a Primstar.

When I was getting mine for a standard van similar cost it had more on like bluetooth parking sensors ect. However top spec weren't as good I believe more available options with trafic and vivaro. Essentially they are all exactly the same so best compare all models across all 3 ranges.

Id be careful with them if i was you. The best option would be buy brand new and sell after 4 years.

That's just what I've done. Brand new trafic sport with all the goodies. 12500 plus vat. 4year warrantee. Sell it at 4 years. Same Vw 21500 plus vat. Even though had a Vw for 5 years couldn't pay that. Trafic seems fine.

My experience was issues at 90k.
Mate is now having the same issues but is at 155k!
IMHO there are just good'uns & bad'uns.
I have got another Trafic now though. Love them.
Still want the daddy of vans, the Transporter, when funds allow.

Jealous?, are you for real?, no mate i am not jealous. But then i did work at a vw garage for 3.5 years so am acutely aware of just how over rated vw's are, but am also acutely aware how vw 'fans' cant see past their own opinions!.
Looks (matter of opinion surely?), 4 wheel drive (i'm in north east scotland and go to some pretty 'rural' houses, but have never felt the need for 4 wheel drive), as for power, 180bhp or 200+bhp, what would i need that for?, i am a window cleaner not a boy racer!. I am quite happy with the 90bhp of my transit connect (though a bit more torque would be appreciated!).

Being a very 'thrifty' people, they dont use vw transporters because they are over priced, complicated and expensive to fix, and not that capacious, unlike their iveco's!.

I know they are the same Darren, I'd have to be blind not to realise but in my opinion I thought the Renault fell to bits, just little things breaking, not had that prob with the vivaro. I also think Renault customer service was tosh!!!

I was a valeter/driver not a mechanic. The closest i got to working on them was helping to push them onto a ramp after being being dropped off by a breakdown truck, and sometimes picking up or dropping off their owners (who were often, understandably, rather irate). In fairness, it was usually the bigger engined versions that caused their owners grief, especially those with DSG.
But hey ho, each to their own, and i dont want to hijack this topic any futher. If you want one that is your business, but personally i would rather have the nissan that was the subject of this topic! (along with the many £1000's that i would save!).

I love my Trafic too. But would prefer the Transporter. Sans DSG.
The DSG box is lovely but not really suited to that much torque/weight IMO.
They put the same box in the Seat Leon I had, less than half the weight.
One day I'll get one. Hopefully the T6.

I probably mentioned it before but my son drove a brand new vw transporter high powered five cylinder diesel for just over three years. 75k and the engine was kaput - £9000 to fix :o just out of warranty.
Utter pile of crap!

vw s ARE OVERRATED AND OVERPRICED IMO.i know a guy whos had loads of trouble with his transporter.i see loads smoking badly and they look basic but you pay your money and take your chance.
on the other hand ive got a 14 year old kangoo that ive had for 4 years with 142000 on the clock with minimum repairs needed in 4 years.time to get rid in a few months though. :)

The old transporters were in my opinion the best and most reliable vans ever built (t4 version) .
very simple to fix and pretty much bulletproof.
the newer ones are still nice vans but all modern vehicles have there share of problems now from being so overcomplicated.
