Title: How much to buy Commercial
Post by: Joseph Michael on January 15, 2014, 04:17:53 pm
Hi

Could somebody please tell me, on average, how much is expected (the going rate, if there is one), to buy a commercial round from somebody. I know this is not black and white but I am looking for some feedback as I have no idea whatsoever. A guy not far from me is looking to possibly sell the round, it is a days work every week, so I wondered if anybody had any suggestions on what they would pay for the round or sell the round for.? How many times the weekly or monthly takings.?  (The round is a high street, all shops.!)  Cheers guys.

Joe

Hi joe

I just sold my commercial round of shops for a years income, most peope don't sell that unless there retiring or moving on, quiet sort after work.

I bought a small round of  £250.00 worth of weekly shops few years ago from company I paid 13 cleans but I was in high street any way

The trouble is with high street work it's good earnings all weather but very volatile, with recession

The other factor to consider  is how much somebody really wants it, and how much there prepared to pay, but expect to pay more than you would for domestic rounds in my opinion

My mate bought a shops fronts only round for £1000 and it pulls in £200 a week. I nearly fell of my chair when he told me, its about 10 miles from my house, he starts at 7am on a sunday and finishes 12 :(

If its an old chap on a bike (stereotype i know) then you could be laughing.

Youngish and in the know. Anywhere from 5x - 15x the rate

That is incredible. Assuming weekly cleans (at least!) you got 50+ times round value???!!!

Thanks guys. I guess it's like I said, not black and white. No hard and fast rules. Probably stating the obvious now but I suppose it depends on much somebody wants the round, and/or how desperate somebody is to sell a round.
Thank you again, that really has been very helpful.
