I am sorry to say this but so often I read advice on this forum and its is so bad or worse not properly explained . Is it really with its weight in gold. This is a shame as there are a few chaps worth there weight in gold and asset to this forum. But for a newby who do you listen to.To many threads are written as fact and they a really opinions.
OK , knock me out with a avalanche of abuse from the bullies. ;D ;D ;D ;D

take what you need and ignore most of it and laugh at the rest :)

Actually, i totally agree with you smithie :(
-
You are correct but, sometimes I tell people how it is and how it should be and they ignore me and do the opposite!
::)roll
Some people huh?
-
Problem is everybody thinks their way is best.
I feel sorry for the window cleaners who don't know how their system works or how to replace stuff. I try lots of things throughout the year and yes it can cost me time and money but in the long term I am quicker and earning more money.
I take what I read on here with a pinch of salt.
Dump them. Replace with two more and you will be doing £300 a day. Then next week. My clamp broke on my slx where is the cheapest place to buy glue from.
It's lol city sometimes.
A few people have done well in the WC business. But they won't tell you how they done it. I don't mean two vans and an yard. I mean 10 plus vans etc
-
Yes Smithie, is that why you deleted your account last time? If I find a lot of crap on here, I wander over to the chat section and have a laugh.
There's a point you reach on this section, where you've asked everything you needed to ask, and you answered the same 50 questions more than twice the times they are posted. Then you've seen all the clever blokes who've made it work. Then after a time, you know all the bluffers and mongs who claim to have made it but haven't.
It's a cycle, and happens year in year out. Now you know that, why not go into the chat section and get it off ya chest in there. Because the complainers on here eventually end up throwing a hissy fit, stamp their little foot and cancel their account.
Imagine that eh? ::)roll

Cosy you never fail to disappoint lets not delve into your history Pengo was a discredited name if I remember not so long time ago. So don`t try to Tar me with your brush. Not all treads are as clear as mud my friend some are written to provoke thought.. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Oh! Now you want to get abusive? I thought that's one of the reasons you cancelled your last account!! No idea what a Pengo is ??? All your posts seem to be whining about something. Calm down mate, It's only a forum. Try not to get upset and stamp your little foot again. Just trying to help.

To be fair mate, 90% of your posts are a moan (im assuming you are smithie of old?)its not like you're contributing yourself.....
Just let it slide buddy, you dont have to take it all personally....
Ive taken advice from the forum when i started, and didnt take other advice, i used what best suited me, and i'd imagine thats what newbies would do....
(P.s Pure H2O, cracking vid on the using laquer on carbon poles, did it at the weekend, great shout!!)

The problem is not so much people who think their way is best, it is people who think their way is best and absolutely will not accept any other point of view.

Aye but, what if my way is right (it is) and everybody else is daft (they are)?

Its a forum and as such you get 'all sorts'
Why not use the search function, everything you need to know is there and more.
Read a few threads and its easy to find the right answer.
With it being a public forum n all don't be naive enough to think your every question will be seized upon by the multitude who'll show an unbridled enthusiasm to furnish you with an answer that will satiate your every window wiping want. ;D
-
At least this forum is lively and to my mind the whingers and moaners along with those that do a bit of foot stomping helps keep it interesting.
Some of the other forums are a bit like a graveyard at times with their 'we treat each other with respect here'.

What I do find really amusing is how the same members with much the same names posting the same subjects think that by joining another forum they are amongst friends and polite people ;D
It's a mirror of this one - same sad people talking about the same subjects - brilliant!

Thank you Smithie for your informed advice on the 'chinese' heaters.
I went against your advice and bought one. ;D
-
Fantastic.

So was your advice good or bad ?? :-*

;D
Hi Dave,
This made me laugh last night when I saw your initial thank you to Smithie for his Chinese heater advice. What you also have to see is Smithie's side as a South African. And I'm sure he is genuinely happy that its working for you.
If my memory serves me correctly I think he did describe the heat exchanger as being made from a very thin material that wouldn't last. Under South African conditions everything has to be made of 2mm thick plate or else it will be broken.
There was a long standing South African joke that summed it up. They locked a South African (a member of the group that would usually fall into the unskilled/semiskilled labour force) in solitary confinement in a cell for a few months with 2 large steel balls.
After checking back in a few months the observers noticed that 1 ball was missing and the other was broken.
I could never understand why Britsh Leyland spent millions on a test track to test the 'quality' of their newly built Leyland Marinas. It would have been cheaper to send a few out to South Africa and they would see very quickly where the weaknesses were.

Spot on Spruce Marina was classed as the worst car made in S A by British Layland. All overheated and fell apart if they did not rust to bits.Land Rover was another kettle of fish.
What sanctions did in S A was everyone learned what quality was and how to recognize it. A through away society never existed. If we did not have it we made it.AS a result I can fix most things. When I moved to the U K I was expecting a very modern I st world society were everything worked and a more tolerant people.AS Britain told most countries how to do it all. Things have turned out quite different.
The policy tossed about of equality and diversity by the politicians seems to have missed CIP Forum. I am getting used to it and now celebrate the difference. The way to learn and grow your country is to travel and observe what happens in other places. When I mean travel I do not mean Ibeeffa or Lansa-otty. So let me be different and most could learn a bit from a half German half Yorkshire man with a S A culture. I have been around the block so many time and seen the backsides of so many. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks mods for messing up this one. You had made it sound like my thread is at fault. I objected to the insulting remark from Dirty Darren of my culture and heritage.
-
On the whole, I like this forum and find it very useful.
It does suffer from the malady of all forums though:
THOSE THAT KNOW THE LEAST, POST THE MOST
As long as you know and understand this then its ok.

I don't know who modded the post, but for someone who claims to 'have been around the block' you're a sensitive little darling aint you?
Maybe you ought to stay away from the interweb if a bunch of pixels on a computer screen keeps annoying you?
-
Shouldn't moderators be objective and impartial?
-
Don't worry - I've reported Tosh.
-
Shouldn't moderators be objective and impartial?
Each of us perceives then adds a layer of subjective understanding onto that perception; so how can anything that is produced by a subjective mind be objective, Mr Bateman?
If that's too difficult to understand then the short answer is 'No!'.

Sounds like one of those "freinds" you meet in the public bogs you hang out in at the weekend Bateman. :D

lol
I have met smithie in person and he said on that occasion he was due to meet you cozy round the back of the publics in the park at 9.30 that night.

Wrong. But hey you can't educate a turd.
I didn't write that actually. It was cozy, he FB'd me and said he'd do it. I didn't think for one minute he'd do it under my name, but he's a turdy basher too.

Oh dear.... have I strayed into the gayer part of the forum?? :o
or just the Matt and Cozy show? :-*
or is it the same thing?? ;D ;D
-
I find this forum very informative. There is lots of good advice on here from some very experienced people.
The trick is to sift it out and make the best of it. I certainly don't agree with everything on here but it's good to get a difference of opinions. Certain peoples arguments have made me see things differently and change the way I work and that can only be a good thing. The people on this forum are like my customers; most people are good, a few are a pain, a few I would choose not to deal with. But I get on with everyone because that's how I roll. ;D

Tosh you have become so full of it as a mod you do very little to control order on this forum and even worse add to the problem. Maybe its time for the owner of this forum to rethink you in this position. You are not a example of how to behave on a forum. Go on them carry on with your gutter behavior.
