Building a new van set up
Most of my work is single / double storey domestics
anything bigger than that I currently borrow a pole from a mate
getting more town houses coming in been so been looking into investing in a third pole for a few months not looking at opinions of which maufacturer but need advice on
What size is best suited
currently have a 4 ft for bungalows / mobile homes
27 ft for 2 storey work
what size pole would you go for for 3 storey maybe 4 max
as had a few commercial inquiries coming in
only really want to carry 3 poles so it really needs to cover up to 4 floors
thanks
it also needs to fit into vauxhall combo

Your 27ft will do 3 storey. I'd get 45ft if want to do 4 storey. Should be more than enough but gives you the leeway if working on a hill etc...
-
Cant pick up some veluxs on the 3 storeys with a 27
-
True, thats more because of the angle you need to be to get to them though...
Some of them, you're the same distance as if cleaning 4 storey's (45ft pole)
-
I have a 25ft SLX for everyday use.
And 2 extra SLX sections to take it to around 35ft.
I just add the extra sections for a couple of monthly jobs that require the extra reach.
-
18' SLXII
30' SLXII
47' Extreme and a bundle of HS extensions
These 3 get me from basement to my highest jobs.
30' and some extension(s) will do pretty much everything you need to do domestically.
-
You must do some very high 2 story properties to need a 27 footer I get all of mine
with an 18ft SLX.
For anything higher I do the same as andyM a 25ft SLX with extra sections.

Funds were tight when i started so I tried to get 1 pole that done most of my work plus a bit higher if needed

it's a 45 I borrow to do reach the velux on the 3 storey

I dont touch velux windows on 3 storey townhouses , I have a Smax40 which iuse a 25ft pole and just add sections back on for the few higher jobs i have . Mike

slx 22, does all my two storey work with ease
slx 30 with 10" carbon gooseneck.does all town houses, dormers and virtually all velux windows
-
extreme 25 for most work
extreme 47 for anything higher
SLX 22(spare emergency pole)

will the 47 do you for 4 storey work
-
CLX 27 for everything.
Don't do any velux's mind on 3 story houses.
-
yep 47 footer reaches 4 storeys no problem mate.with my reach its over 50 ft so will reach 5 storey as well.
-
sorry mate 4 storey as in
ground floor,1st floor,2nd floor,3rd floor,4th floor.
anything higher and you ll need a 60 footer
-
for most work a 25 ft pole will reach most domestic, small and large including velux windows on kitchen extensions, all the awkward windows set back over flat roofs, town houses etc
47 ft pole reaches all my solar panel cleaning jobs, velux windows on main roofs of houses and all my commercial jobs and large domestic.
-
CLX-22 does 95% of my work with ease
-
It is worth noting with the 47ft extrem you can add ONE extension and the pole is still fully telescopic giving you a reach of around 55ft.
I have extremes ranging from 18 to 70ft now
-
1 pole only in my van which is a 25ft slx.
I dont do anything over 3 story.
-
I would ditch the 4ft pole, a waste of van space in my opinion, an slx 18 or xtreme 18 by gardiners will both be short enough for bungalows and big enough for upstairs. An slx 25 or xtreme 25 is a very versatile pole as well getting a floor higher and awkward windows over conservatories.
Simon.

Went out in london today giving a mate a hand
done it to see what its like working at height on a block of 5 storey flats basement plus 4 floors top windows up in the roof dormers
horrible
Not for me to high there's defo a art to working above 3 floors
Maybe its something you get used to with experience but it's not for me
