Title: how long untill all jobs need risk and method statement
Post by: one eyed window cleaning on January 12, 2014, 07:18:00 pm
I wonder how long it will be befor the domestic customers insurance companys will want risk and method statments?
Been in this game for twelve pluss years when I started I was never asked for it. The first one I had to do was for a company who treat people who have had head injuries, about ten years ago. Saturday I was working at a national health club (gym) and now they want one, because of some plumber who cut his finger off. The nobb hadn't even told them he was on site.
It's not a problem once you get the first one out the way but it is more paperwork.
I think this will be required for domestic customers in the not to distant future?
What do you guys and girls think.

Commercial, yeah. Almost all of mine do.
Domestic-no, won't happen for a very long time or ever IMO.

Some lads don't know their customers' names still (nothing wrong with that)
Some customers don't know their window cleaners' name "fella with the red car, tattoo of 'love and hate' across his knuckles' is as much as some of 'em know sometimes.

Time will tell, but I think it will be sooner than you think. But on the up side it may keep us all a bit safer
