What do you consider the best Gardiner pole and why?
-
Wot! No Extreme :(.
-
supermax ??? superlite ???
what about xtreme?
-
What do you consider the best Gardiner pole and why?
Is this 'market research' for anyone in particular Lee ;)
-
Maybe you need to re-word the question as you can't compare a CLX with the others, unless you really mean, what's the best value for money pole, and my answer to that would be the Extreme, which you havny listed.

Yes, Alex. Mag business - we are planning a bunch of Gardiner articles for WCM, will contact you shortly - that ok buddy?
-
There is a major flaw with the available options Lee!! ;D

Well not really. For me I prefer all my CLX poles to my SMAX poles, for example ;D
-
what do you mean by superlite?
your clx is a everyday pole, lighter than your supermax and you don't use it all day, every day, so you can't compare them imo

Yes I can. I would rather use a CLX to my SMAX where ever possible.

The SuperLite Xtreme

ok fine, you don't want to hear what we say so don't expect much answers of your useless question!

Some people do just have a SMAX pole....
-
EXTREME poles for me.i wont use anything else now.a 25 footer is my main day to day pole and a 47 footer for anything higher.as a sole trader these are awesome poles and keep strain down to a minimum.
if i was employing though i would supply the lads with SLX poles.

best value for money as to be the slx for me.

so you can only answer the question if you have tried the 4 different poles, i pretty sure 100% of the time the answer would be xtreme!

I have Extreme & slx.
I think the slx is better.
Extreme is like my best china, only comes out for special occasions.
Slx's used every day.
The halfway clamp points would irritate me if I used it day in day out I think.
Lovely pole though.

Have tried CLX range?

ben read the bit I say "value" ;)
for me I except a pole to last 2years of daily abuse, after that I get rid to someother su cker on fleabay etc.
the slx is stiffer and lighter than the clx,a bit heavier than the extreme but a big saving in cost than the extreme roughly £200.
so the extra I pay for the extreme I could have two slx lasting 4years instead of one pole lasting 2years
bearing in mind that the pole going after 2years.so that's why I see it better value for money
I have smax at 50ft which I use only on big jobs
-
as Ben says to answer you would need to have used all 4 poles to answer the question
so on that basis i have answered slx, compared to the clx, not tried anyothers

I've tried the CLX22 and loved using the pole after trying other models by other manufacturers.
However, when the pole sections started wearing and the brush started spinning after 5months it really has put me off the poles.
I was told on this forum a few weeks ago that they have now brought out new clamps, and I was intending on contacting them, but with working right through December(no ice) I never did get round to it.
I'm also wondering if anbody has replaced the clamps and how easy is the process(roughly how long does it take)?
Please don't read this post as a hatchet job on Gardiners as I've dealt with them for years and will continue to buy various items, I'm just a little disillusioned with the poles.

Hi Simon
Have you contacted the office about this wear issue?
Please feel free to phone or email the office about this or drop me an email on alex@agardiner.co.uk - If you do this could you include the following information:
Exact date of purchase and invoice number, description of which sections are affected and exactly when this was first noticed. Also some photos of the affected sections would be useful.
-
Hi Alex, I spoke to one of your colleagues about it in late nov whilst ordering merlin membranes. If I recall the sale was march or april when the poles were on clearance. I will send you a pic or 2 when I service my setup tomorrow.
Regards, Simon :)

Maybe so but which poles people own is also an indicator :)

It is true not everyone has tried all the poles. But clearly already I can see the SLX is coming out top. You do not have to of tried all the poles to be involved in this topic. Your pole choice is just as much as an indicator for me :)

Not really, as I don't own an Extreme. Now I know from you :)

Xtreme. Make a new poll Lee. :)

The Extreme is super and it's light but it's not the Superlight. The Superlight was and is the modular pole and still is Superlight. Then there is the Supermax which is still a super pole and is nearly the same as the super light SlX which is a super light pole especially if fitted with Superlight brushes which are both super and light but not as light as the Extreme brush which is the lightest and still a super brush. As far as I know the CLX is super and light but has never been a Superlight but it's still a super pole. (I've never had one). I only use Extreme poles now which are super and light especially with a super light Extreme brush (that's not called a Superlight).
I'm off for some soup now, hope this has cleared it up.
-
Extreme is the only way for me even down to 18ft or 35ft nothing compares
-
I've had a supa lite modular about 6or7 years ago and i now currently use a 30 ft slx as my everyday pole my son has the 27 ft clx i know it's extra money for the slx over the clx but in my opinion it's worth it hands down having used both next to each other but i don't think I would give one to someone working for me as they can get messed up if not looed after and cared for marc
