Not seen many at the rear. But would it be safe to mount at the rear. I know it will make van a bit light at the front.
Where is the best place? In the middle of the load area? Or behind bulkhead?
-
depends on the vans axle weight and tank size.
other than that you can put it anywhere
-
Behind and against the bulkhead but don't rely on just the bulkhead. Get a van with side doors.

I'm in the middle of kitting out my LWB vivaro - I'm going to mount the tank in the middle of the van. I'll then have a big load space where the sliding door is for the gutter vac etc and then use the back for WFP.

Any where forward of the rear axle, or even half the tank over the rear axle at most.......but NOT after the axle .

Ahhhhar yeah that what i mean :D Awesome :)

A friend of mine has a vivaro, and he had a system fitted 650L by ionics pure2o, they said they couldnt fit it in the middle and fitted it straight over the rear wheels.
If that was me i would have made them move it, 1 they were just being lazy, and 2 it has probaly overloaded the rear axle weight limit.
-
I am guessing it will be near the fuel tank etc.
But yeah it could be lazy lol

my ionics tank was fitted in my previous vehicle over the rear wheels - but that was at my request in a 1200 kg payload t4 transporter so was not over the axle limit , this van has a very heavy 2.5 engine at the front too so handling was fine.
My grippa install in my vivaro is mid mounted and they said that was the best place to fit it for equal weight loading and due to the position of the fuel tank .
They both use a different way of mounting , grippa use big bonded plates through the floor plan , ionics bolt through chassis , maybe its the position of the chassis rails or parts blocking the rails that prevented them fitting it further forward .
if its over the axle limit then they shouldn't have fitted it in my opinion .

Have you any pics of the grippa install ? Please?

Behind bulk head best .

There are pics on the grippa website and on an earlier thread on here.
It was a secondhand grippa tank and frame (the development one brought directly from alex gardener for £400 650 litre)
Then got grippa to fit it to my new van with split charger etc and they used the 4040 ,pump etc from my old ionics system .
