Title: tips on stopping this freezing
Post by: matty72 on November 17, 2013, 08:01:40 pm
Hi guys, any tips would be good, I have a 1000 ltr thin plastic storage tank for water outside on concrete, best way to try and delay the freezing, i was thinking wrapping plastic sheeting around it, what do you reckon.

Has it frozen before?  Mine hasn't though it's had a layer of ice form on top and we've had a few harsh Winters in the past few years.

Though I am in South Wales, not Scotland.

I insulate my tank with eco-friendly loft insulation.  Wrap it in bin bags to stop it getting wet and wrap it tight around your tank.  Not saying it won't freeze at all, but mine hasn't.  I insulate my purification kit in the same way too.
