.... and bought a L5!! Every winter I thoink I should have bought one and fitted it in the summer, I thought it would be a big modification to my system but its so easy.
Finishing early tomorrow so will it. can't wait.
One thing though... I noticed it has an auto shut off every 18 minutes of use (think it said 18 but there abouts). I use an Aquadapter so that shuts the flow off regularly so will this override the auto shut off on the L5?

Yep!
One thing tho make sure that you buy
Some hose that is made for hot water use
As with normal hose once it gets hot, when you
Turn the flow of the hose will expand and
Won't turn the L5 of when you think it has
And is a right pain in the arse

Yeah, I bought it brand new. Maybe it doesnt have the shut off then, I read it on one of the websites when i was reviewing it and looking at a spec so it might have been a secondhand ebay item that had the old spec . L5 in garage now but will check tomorrow.

will having an L5 installed to my set up thaw out any frozen water there is in the tank in my van?or would I need to buy a gas heater aswell? ??? ??? ???

Nope, it will neat cold water but not ice.
Perhaps a greenhouse style heater could be bought too (£20 from b&q)

cheers mate,what do you use in winter to prevent it from freezing?or does it not freeze up too bad?

Fit a pond heater stick it through some wall insulation for floatation into the tank.Just remember it get hot so allow for this.

friends has brought some of that hose, and he hates it, it wont coil up nice or anything, just keep springing about, its like a thick nylon hose,

The main advantage it the hot water!
Works faster on first cleans, I have found when using it I can get more done in a day and use less water that when using cold. We was working out last winter in -9 and had no problems, have to be a carful on certain area like door ways and public paths.

The red pole hose they do, it like that coild airline hose I used to use,
Just been working with the x-line 8mm hose this week and that's fantastic with hot water, so far, light and dosent get to soft when hot either.

Yes it was the pole hose sorry, it is good at resisting hot water, but that's about it, he finds it just want to un coil all the time, won't stay in a nice neat coil like all other pole hoses do.

I agree - I also do not like PU pole hose. Has too much memory effect for my liking. With hot water it does become more pliable. We kept getting asked for PU pole hose so we have started selling it - it's very popular as well, so some users must like it :)

If so PU pole hose is very good quality hose.
Or do you mean 'good' as in is it well suited to its task?

Might be, like I said I just got the standard pole hose that came with my phoenix and that has had temps of upto 60-70 through it with no problem. Like wise with some of your standard yellow pole hose that's had same temps through it without any problems.

As you have found, a lot of people use standard pole hose with warm/hot water with no issues as long as all of the connections are firmly secured.

That's true, if not firmly secred they pop off all the time when hot!
