Preferably version 3.69Y4
Im getting a bit worried now, not had a response off paul from george about getting an older version of george, the only working backup file ive got is from 2011.
im hoping if i get an older version, it will be able to read it. (the most recent file)
-
why have you only got that back up?
-
You should be able to open the file in database like excel as it is only a CVS file. or you can import the file to Roundpartner. You can get a six week free trial at http://roundpartner.co.uk
-
cant see any way to import files into roundpartner
@james, i do have more backups from the past year, none of them work in the new version of george.
-
If you go into 'my account' on the right top menu bar, on the next screen there is an import from george option. You click on your file and it uploads as a round and you will be able to view it and print it off

Quite like that round Partner manager it still needs to develop an edge on the others as they are all a much of a muchness.
There are quite a few of these programs around but not one stands out head and sholder.

@john, thanks will have another look
@goodfella, tried to download that file, but it was blocked as unsafe.
-
i just tried uploading my backup.geo file to round partner, but it says only .csv files accepted?
-
backup.geo is your backup file for George your compete database.
the csv files in George are when you export your customers etc, its a bit different.
so its pointless the round partner fella saying that unless you can get into George and get your CSV files by exporting your customer base.. which as you cant even get your back up to run its no good to you
-
ok thanks
-
what email did you use to email Paul at george he is usually fast at replying

If your security settings are firly high, it might have merely blocked it because it had .exe as the file extension. I believe that this can be overriden manually.
Maybe download the file and, without opening it, run a virus checker on it?

You want the file ending in CVS it should be in the George folder or where you back up files are saved. If the whole folder is corrupted you may not be able to do it.
