Title: HELP!
Post by: Alex Wingrove on August 02, 2013, 07:30:33 pm
Ok so my filter sheered off.

How do I get it out, is drilling my only option?

Thanks

Alex

I had this happen to me, you should be able to bolt extractors from Halfords maybe, few years ago, but I think I paid around £20 for a set

Warm it up first and get a large flat screw driver - the sort with a tapered flat end and hexagon shank like they sell in Wickes, knock it into the hole and turn with a spanner on the shank. The filter is best fitted tank end with a QR into the pump - this stops this happening as it removes the filter from the vibration

Had a few of these over the year with the same ali cast filters. spesh through winter.

As Carl said, large flat head screw driver, easy done.
