Title: starter motor to head gasket possibly
Post by: richywilts on February 09, 2013, 04:42:36 pm
luckily i employ a lad whose a trained mechanic what started off as a starter motor replacement job on a vauxhall vivaro, then turned into a full services and change of fan and cam belts which now may need full head gasket replacement due to bleeding last glow plug jammed in, the van can be used as it is apparently for now but shows what lack of care and attention to your main asset and tool can result in i will hold my hands up not being the most mechanically minded person if it runs its ok in my mind is totally wrong!!!

i will be getting this lad to carefully look after all vans now in future

i even changed the oil on my car the other week wipe ddipstick and not one drop of oil to be seen

im bad haha

I wouldn't worry about getting the glow plug removed. If it starts in the cold weather it will be fine, modern diesels don't really need them.

There won't be any long term damage. Only get it sorted if you have difficulty starting it in cold weather.

Richy are you sure he said head gasket replacement? If a glow plug isn't coming out then you will need a new head on the engine not a head gasket mate.
