It worries me a bit that the letter promises "new looking" carpets for "peanuts".
having seen some of the pub carpets round this way it'd take an awful lot of work to get them looking new..

Is this one any good to you.
Dear Sir
BRIGHT AND NEW LOOKING CARPETS FOR SPRING
Whenever a customer walks into your pub the carpets can either help increase your sales or help turn people off.
Many licensees have found that having there carpets cleaned does two things:-
First Passing trade tends to increase. A clean pub not only feels more comfortable for regular customers. It also attracts more new clientele.
Second The useful Life of the carpet is extended. Deep cleaning means that the carpets last longer. And in better condition.
Being specialist carpet and upholstery cleaners, we are skilled in cleaning and restoring both neglected and nearly new carpets.
We can make old carpets look like new
We can even breathe new life into old looking carpets. All at a price which is a lot less than you think.
I will ring you in a day or so to see if you would like a free no obligation quotation.
Or alternatively, you may simply ring us now to make arrangements for a free inspection.
We guarantee good results
You could be very pleasantly surprised by the benefits you and your staff experience.
I look forward to seeing you and being of service to you soon.
Yours sincerely ,

Thanks Gort
Ive had no success with letters, I think a change in stratagy is required, I believe the best way si to find out the details of the manager send one directly to him and find out who the brewery is and mail them too again too who ever it concerns at the brewers, short of that cold calling seems to be the best way, drop in and quote them then and there.

You can find out who the licencee is by looking at the sign above the door. It's also a good excuse to go for a pint! (Well, that's what I tell the wife! "Just going out to do some, errr, market research, love")
Also, if you visit a pub and they haven't got any carpet it's probably not worth sending them a letter!
