Title: Method for Oiling - New Fench Oak Floor
Post by: Grant Whyte on December 09, 2011, 05:03:04 pm
Regular client would like us to oil their new French Oak floor. Approx. 55m2. Thinking of;

Removing all dust and loose soil with vac.
Light application of oil with roller brush.
Gentle agitation with soft brown or white pad on rotary machine to work the oil into the timber
Repeat process for second coat 3 - 5 hours later
Buff at higher speed with white pad to achieve a good finish

What would you recommend, should I change anything, any suggestions on rotary speed.

Comments appreciated.

Thanks

Grant

Only thing we would do different is give it a run over with the Bona Scrad System first to clean up the surface a little.
