Alot of companys I have noticed have switched to this kind of pricing ie first carpet £40 any carpet afer £20 even a local chemdry has started this.... whts your thoughts ?
-
funny enough I was thinking of switching to this line of pricing, but I was thinking of first room £70 then any others £35.
did a couple of comparisons this week and it work out about the same as my regular pricing. it would also get my minimum price up
-
I was thinking of running it as an offer rather than changing my price plan see how it goes... if i was looking into getting my carpets cleaned this type of offer would appeal to me but sadly as we all know not everyone thinks the same way
the chem dry are running first carpet 75 any after 25 ?
-
A few by me have been doing this type of ad for a couple of years in my local free paper. First cleaned for £20 then every other carpet £10 ;D Nuggets. Wonder why they are out of business in 12 months.
-
but if thr pricing is right
-
Would there be a minimum number of carpets per order?...
I.e First carpet X .... all xtra carpets thereafter x *(min 2 carpets per order)
-
I am losing a third of my quotes and I consider myself reasonable, if I had
to add vat ie another 20% i wouldnt get a look in.
Things are definetly tight even the high end :-[

Any marketing in any industry will offer a " carrot " to motivate you to buy so it's logical to do the same in carpet cleaning especially when you want to exceed your minimum price.
The tough bit is getting it right when making your offer.

I agree..... everyone is having to cut their cloth accordingly... especially consumers... i've had work where i've been the third person called....not saying i'm cheap or expensive but when ive spoken too to the custy pricing, is a clear issue more so in the current climate....
I price in a bracket i'm comfortable with so the multi room thing could work for me..
Saying that i dipped on a job last week to someone who was slighlty more (£5) expensive...
I'm still a novice in this industry but loving the challenge every day and week brings ... this is a new direction in my life from my past and one i'm really enjoying...money wise i have my targets every week (which we all have) ... but without going into detail i'm sure it is relatively low in comparison to others as i'm fortunate not to rely solely on this (although it is my sole occupation)... that said i consider it a professional industry and wouldn't dream of trying to disrespect or discredit it with ridiculous pricing (i'll leave that to the polish with their rug doctors!!).... as for groupon i love it .... £6 for a round of golf with a bacon roll.... ;D

the only people this will effect are the single room buyers, if they are getting 2 rooms cleaned then they will see it as a bargain..... the second room is at half price!!
at my price they still are getting a rooms cleaned at £50 each, not an enormous price and with this priceing policy you can give them the answer they really want to know..... how much will it be?
it would be great for phone quotes
-
will it not encourage those who initially wanted 1 room done to have 2 ??....
OOh think i'll get my bedroom done too.... if you catch my drift..
I'm sure we've all upsold when on jobs like when youve done someones lounge you say" you need hall stairs n landing doing now and thats downsatirs all spic n span"....before you pack your machine away...custy then says ooo how much extra .. you - " seeing as i'm here its x" ...custy "ok go on then that'll be great"..
-
I think its a good idea as people want to here exactly what we do when we phone how much does it cost and what do I get for that.... and also it means when you enter the house before you start you can remind them its half price any other carpet and that said you could be putting your profits up alot
