Title: 1st Cleans

Hi All,

I use WFP, however I generally will go up the ladder on the 1st clean to give the windows a good scrape of paint/birds muck etc.

Are any other WFP window cleaners doing this or am I just wasting my time?

I do charge more for the first clean obviously.

Also will being a perfectionist wear off once Ive been doing the job a bit longer?

Yeah, what your doing is an initial clean. Not in the builders clean sense obviously but I would have a scraper blade (for the paint specs and ronseal back spray) as well as a dish brush and even a tooth brush when doing the first timers. Your WFP brush won't have the agitation required to remove a year or 2's worth of crud, spiders nests, traffic film and bird gunk. Personally I don't charge any extra for the time involved in them, I love cleaning glass and it blows the comp out of the water and might even inspire some semblance of custy loyalty.

i agree that doing it thoroughly the first time is a no brainer for making sure you retain the customer.

for me it just how i feel on the day.

if its looking not too dirty etc then just straight to wfp ...

if minging then yes the ladders have been known to come out

sometimes we use customers tap and wfp it (mainly with the frames in mind) and then go back over with pure water wfp

Depends on how much you are making. You could be working for peanuts if it takes too long.
