Spill the beans, who's getting them then? I do a top shop and heard nothing yet, though I know the cleaning companies area manager was asking how much they were paying for window cleaning a while back so I guess it could be them.

Dorothy Perkins, Top Shop, Burtons all owned by Arcadia Group I think, as is BHS, so I guess they will be going national as well, just a matter of time til they all are I guess.

I got a call to price the ones I do, the lady on the phone said 3 times the CHEAPEST gets the work, I phoned them with the price and asked a few questions.

They don't have there own window cleaners, all work is subbed out.

I asked her to send me an email so I could send them my details for future reference, they had no facilities to do this.

Alarm bells rang, so I asked where there head office is, she did not know, up north I think was her reply.

Good luck in getting paid if you do them, this seems like a proper micky mouse set up.

It's gonna be interesting to walk past the ones I do as some of them need doing every day.

The only other work I had from a cleaning company was with Jani King, They are total crap with paying and I sent them court letters, got paid straight away then, all my work is my own and thats the way I like it.

I tried to find them on google and could'nt, might just be my spelling of there name but still strange nowdays not to have a website, not unless there in Essex then I found them, but thats not up north

the problem you have got with all these natonal companies, is they go one of  them course and get all the nice qualifications, dont actually know how to clean windows and then just tenders for all the jobs going,  then sub it all out

The website I think is there's states it's a family run business so maybe this is there 1st national contract, depends where you class up north being,

Ok have to wait the first 60 days then it comes through monthly after that.

Post by: weetot on July 13, 2011, 07:45:40 pm
Oh well, not bad, I was expecting a wait of at least 3 months.

My mates done one of the D.Perkins store for 20 years, and this National phoned him whilst he was cleaning it, to re-price it!. Probaly alot cheaper!

He was well gutted to say the least >:(

just set up a website like theres and offering all kinds of services then just find people to do it (sub it out)

tell me why this wouldnt work?

you could do it with building/construction anything your the slightest bit fimiliar with!

Arcadia pay on 30 days by BACS if you wait 60 days before paying subbies your ahead in money, when the contract is finished hang on to the money and wait for the subbies to chase it up, I bet some can't be bothered so your quids in.

It's the complaint side of things that would drive me nuts

Talking to the window cleaner that does our top shop and he has heard nothing about them going national. He asked the manager and had heard nothing either

They are sending out letters to the store managers shortly to let them know what is happening.

You would of thought they would of contacted them by now so they could let the present window cleaners know whats happening to at least give them a chance to keep hold of their work, as it is by time most of them find out it will be too late for them to put in a price

The guy I spoke to today was having none of when I told him, when he wandered over  to do his ladbrookes I didn't have the heart to tell him that was going as well :-\

He has already lost an office contract to me and two shops to me and a dentist to me
