Title: salt flushing frequency?

hi guys

how frequent or to how many litres do you flush your salt chamber which rinses the water softner?

for those of you who have a water softner as well that is... :)

I flush with salt once a week.

depending on water tds i all depends. for example if you have a tds of around 330-350 you should be doing a salt wash at least every 1000ltrs of water made with a 6.9ltr softner vessel.

thanks guys - can you reminde me of the consequences of not keeping up with the salt flush?

it will increase the chances of the membrane to foul, also increase running costs, due to the membranes not performing as good therfor using more resin
